From the PestX team
This listing is for 1 carton of 25 lengths of 600 mm – 15 m of spikes in the box. Stainless steel and polycarbonate, USA made by Bird B Gone.
We use these on our customers' jobs. They suit any area around your home, business or farm sheds where birds are loitering. To attach them, tech screw or use a good quality adhesive sealant in a caulking cartridge. Sections cut easily with side cutters if they need trimming.
Bird spikes are a very effective deterrent for pigeons and other birds, they need no maintenance, and they are arguably the most frequently used bird control device. They do not harm the birds.
Tips for use
Attach the spikes to the edge of the surface concerned. Birds launch off the edge – they may sit on the flat of a roof, but they won't stay if the edge is spiked. Generally if you control the edge you'll win the war.
Spike a bigger area than you think you need, because the birds will simply move to an unspiked section and start again. Things like air conditioner motors may need the whole case covered. If birds are nesting rather than just roosting, you'll need spikes plus heavier exclusion such as mesh.
Spikes are also useful for keeping dogs and cats off certain areas, or along the top of a fence.
