Silverfish live in and under the things they eat – books, papers, clothes, boxes – which is exactly where a spray can't reach. These lure traps work the other way around: the food attractant brings them out onto the sticky board.

The Silvercheck silverfish lure and trap is a professional product we use in the field with our customers. It is non-toxic and pesticide free, and easy to DIY.

There are limited ways to deal with a silverfish problem. You can spray, but if the silverfish are living in or under your things they never touch the spray and carry on eating your clothes, books, documents and upholstery.

Silverfish eat natural fibres – cotton, paper, cardboard, felt and the like. They won't eat synthetics. Remove as much of their food as you can, though often you can't throw out the very things they're eating. Have a look in your ceiling void too: the roof timbers are a common source.

Each trap comes with a lure sachet that you sprinkle in the centre of the sticky board. The silverfish get stuck on the way to the food. Place them as close to the problem as you can, and move them around if you're not catching anything.
