DIY Installation & Manufacturer Warranties

Most of what we sell is the same professional-grade product licensed pest technicians use on real jobs. If you're installing it yourself, here's what you need to know about how it performs and what the manufacturer's warranty does and doesn't cover.

Follow the label and the product performs as stated

A registered pest control product is designed to perform as stated on its label when it's applied according to the label directions – the right rate, the right method, the right situation. That doesn't change depending on who applies it. Every product page links to the manufacturer's label or documents where they're available, or call us and we'll send them.

Manufacturer warranties are a separate thing

Some manufacturers offer warranties on termite management systems – liquid termiticide barriers, bait and monitoring systems, and treated physical barriers. Those warranties generally only apply when the system is installed by a licensed pest technician, and often only when it's then inspected and maintained on the manufacturer's schedule. If you install a system yourself, the manufacturer's warranty may not apply, even though the product itself is the same. Check the manufacturer's warranty terms before you buy if the warranty matters to you.

New buildings and building approvals

If the termite work is part of a new build, an extension or a building approval, check with your builder or building certifier first. The National Construction Code sets requirements for termite management systems on new work, including compliance with Australian Standard AS 3660.1 and a durable notice fixed to the building.
